At Nest (now Google Nest), we aimed to create a more thoughtful home. I designed and launched multiple cross-platform features, including how Nest products should act when you're home vs away, and what happens when a new roommate moves in. I also led early design explorations into future Nest products.
︎︎︎ Multiple accounts: When the Nest app first launched, it only supported one account per home. If users wanted to give someone else access to their Nest products, they had to share their account and password. This feature, Family Accounts, revamped the experience and made it possible for multiple users to share a home together.
︎︎︎ Full + limited access: With the launch of Nest x Yale Lock, we added nuance to access control, enabling the option for limited access to certain products in a home.
︎︎︎ Nest Tags: This feature upgrade accommodated homes equipped with the new security system, Nest Secure. Users could now assign, temporarily disable, and reassign Nest Tags in their home.
